He was early enough to beat the howlie’s but just late enough where as the staff wouldn't mind him overly much. He had not been back in quite some time and found himself missing the breakfasts here amongst other things. The clans had been quiet considering the spectacle she’d made of Leo ‘s punishment. He felt responsible and had kept himself busy with the business of multiplying the streaks returns everywhere he could. Business was one arena he could give vent to his darker more selfish interests with no reason to rein himself in and as such he bought sold and gutted several entities that held no profit for the streak combining and growing those he could along the way.
It was not an easy process many times he went left to disguise him moving right and vice-versa. In the end the coffers grew and his need of being near here as well. So here he was ordering a Hobo omelet with coffee and extra toast. Waiting for the perfume of his essence to drive her to him. He was stalking her a bit being near but not crossing the boundary of going to her. He was willing to wait as in the end it had to be a joint venture not him simply doing what he did.

She was sitting in her office going over their expenses for the month making notes as she went. She was looking to see where she could make better use of what the restaurant was making and what changes needed made according to both customers and the workers. She couldn't please everyone but the majority was better then the few even if that meant some lost revenue. There was always a pretty steady stream of tourists and islanders so it wouldn't be a huge impact either way.
She'd moved along to looking over the list of items needed on the next order when she felt the tiger walk through her door. She looked up half expecting him to come to her but he didn't and she frowned. She hadn't seen hide nor hair of him in weeks and now that he'd come back around he wasn't even going to come see her, that ticked her off. The last they'd seen the other they had in that moment been all over each other and now it was back to being distant? She soooooo didn't think so. She stood up before she could stop herself and thought about what she was doing and how well or unwell this would go over with the streak. No matter what Leo had said she'd told the elder tigers about what had happened that night. A few of them had expressed their concerns about Hale and Leo while others had actually been more understanding than she had ever thought possible. The majority was still behind her even knowing what she was planning to do. She wouldn't discount the ones against her now but it was a much smaller number then she had anticipated. She lightly shrugged her shoulders and went for the door still peeved at Hale.
Stepping out she shut the door behind her and went in search of him even though she really didn't have to. But she was pretty sure if she didn't he wouldn't either and that wasn't what she wanted. She felt his eyes on her the moment he saw her and she almost felt the need to preen for him. Growling softly she was glaring at him when she stopped at his booth. "Been trying to ignore me have you?"

He smiled as she approached he could smell the heat of her and knew nothing was as it was or would be but that there was a connection between them. He held his clam as he knew the eyes of her streak that worked here were on them. In truth, he didn’t care but for her standing and her stake he would try. Much the same way he was while as bullish as always was trying to ease the Liéren Yú Hei'án Wáng out of its complacency and adherence to what was. He couldn’t help nor apologize for his bombastic demeanor but he could attempt to not beat the world over its head with it either. So, as she approached he rose stopping himself from taking her in his arms but just barely.
“Trying to ignore no just giving some breathing room. You’ve been busy I’ve been busy and I think if we are going to do something as island altering as give me a chance to make sweet rough sweaty toe curling love to you… Well we should both be freer than we’ve been and pour all of our energies into it.” With that he smirked and stepped into her wrapping his arms around her and kissing her as if he were a returning soldier and she a war bride.
Breaking the embrace he motioned to he seat across from his. “ So date night when are we thinking?”

Listening to him she calmed some but was still annoyed with him even if he was speaking the truth. Her eyes widened a bit as he point blank mentioned the fact that he fully intended to end up in bed with her. It had been a close one last time she'd been near him but neither of them had actually said it out loud. Either he knew something had changed or he was fishing. She wouldn't give it to him yet but that didn't stop her from melting into his arms and his kiss. By the time he let go of her she had the biggest smile ever glued to her lips. "You think the two of us is a done deal then? Even if its just us against our streaks?" She wasn't worried about being overheard simply because she knew her people. The reds she had working for her were very firmly with her but she knew Hale didn't know that. It probably seemed like she wasn't being careful enough for him but that was his problem if he chose to let it be.
She took up the seat across from his thinking about his question. She had later today and tomorrow night off unless she chose to take off earlier then normal. Nobody would complain and she had finally chosen a manager to take over during the times she couldn't be there. It had worked out well as she had been spending quite a bit of time lately at the house talking with the elders and taking care of other business. She wasn't a fan of having to spend so much time away but you had to do what you had to do. Especially if it meant she had the clan with her rather then against her. It didn't mean they liked Hale any better but he'd gone from public enemy number 1 to a necessary evil. She could live with that.
Looking at Hale "well I have later today off or tomorrow night unless you have a more specific time in mind.. I didn't know we were actually going to start dating though. Do you know something I don't?"

“Done no deal yes. And I now enough to know that things are changing for us both plus it would be easier I think on folks if they saw us together more slowly get them used to the idea of us being not as… Isolated.”
He said his own face taking on an easy smile. It wasn’t the smile he used to try and pull the wool over anyone. It was simply his smile when it came unforced an without ulterior motive. It was also by dint of his lack of pretense a bit toothy hungry and all too at home on the face his tiger no matter which color it took.
“So yeah date night and breakfast. I know just the place we can disappear into a sea of Howlies and live it up as if we were tourists. I’ll pick you up then we’ll run away for a little while. “ this he said with a wink knowing that he had a few favors to call in once he left. He mapped out a great night in his head but would need to hammer down the details. In the mean time he would enjoy their time. He wasn’t daft he noticed the small changes to staff but they could be written off as different shifts yet when he came he was usually here early and while most of the faces were the same there were a few missing.
He wouldn’t pry just yet but he knew something had changed especially as his blues were hearing less about Leo’s hardliners than before. The surfing holes were calmer. Not the tourist spots but the out of the way places that they frequented. Places where the roads were foot paths and the beaches rocky or darker than the golden sands that the Howlies came for. Places where tigers roamed. All quieter not peaceful just quieter he had no idea that Leo was such a firebrand or cult leader amongst the reds but the difference one tiger made was always inspiring to him.
Pushing the political out of his mind he looked her over once more. “ Size seven shoe right and two to four in dress?” he asked.

Her eyebrows rose at Hale, "we weren't exactly that isolated to begin with you know. I mean come on, the time or time we have clashed in my office and the last time we were together was so not in private. I know that one didn't go any further then a scorching kiss but we both know it would have if we hadn't been interrupted." Her look clearly said try that one again. "I see what you are saying though even if I would rather just throw it in everyone's faces and be done with it. But that will just set the reds views of you back again. It was painful enough the first time." She really didn't want to go through that particular phase again just because she was tired of having to be careful.
She went ahead and ordered breakfast while they talked since she had yet to eat breakfast since it was clear he wasn't leaving yet. She laughed a little at the thought of acting like a tourist, wasn't something she did simply because the places she frequented knew her which took the fun out of it. "You are picking me from where? So I know where to be for this date of ours." She giggled some thinking about how they were finally doing something she'd thought about for months and dreamed of even longer. It almost didn't feel real even though it was.
"Is this place anything ive heard of before? Or are you not going to tell me." She smiled at him and took her plate from the waiter and started in on her eggs and sausage. "Do I want to know how you guessed my clothing sizes?"

Her eyebrows rose at Hale, "Lucky guess or maybe I know you more than I think. And isolated no but together far from it. Most of the elders are old-fashioned enough that they will accept us more as they see us. Versus just our pleasure and seeming to laugh in the face of traditions and such. Plus I know that the moment we make love they will throw a kink at us. Probably send to the mainland for a few suitors for you or some such. It will make it harder for them t think about going that far if they see us as something more than my lasting want of you." He knew they wouldn’t throw any more would be queens at him he’d driven most of them away shamed somehow. He knew when they mustered the strength to come for him it would be Dare. Dare was their shining example of what a tiger of Lieran should be. He wouldn’t let it bother him now or ever. He loved his cousin like no other but even he was slowly seeing what was coming for them. Oblivion. Even he was coming around.
He smiled as she ordered and waited until her meal arrived to continue digging into his. It wasn’t a date but it had that feel in his head they were getting to know each other in a public place enjoying a meal and conversation. "Here of course we want everyone aware, mostly okay before we disappear for a few hours. So, I know you like dogs and cats but what’s your favorite color?" It seemed trivial but he wanted her pleased with his selections. He wanted this night to be unlike any she’d had before. Yes he wanted to impress but he also wanted to know.
"No I am not going to tell you I am going to act like the best writers I am going to show you. I am going to woo you down woman." He joked easily enough though it was as true a statement as he’d spoken. He wanted he ryes but wanted her happiness as well. He wanted her confident on all sorts of levels that she was making the right decision. It was also why he’d distanced himself to make things easier on her.

She shrugged her shoulders in response to what he was saying about the other tigers, she still agreed because she knew just like he did what they would do or rather try to do if it came down to it. For now however she was done talking about their elders and what they needed time to accept or not, it wasn't all about them. By now she'd finished the eggs and sausage and had moved on to her pancakes which were now covered in maple syrup and butter. She made an appreciative noise low in her throat after that first bite, the pancakes here were always delicious. She had to admit though the fact that he knew what size she wore meant he'd been paying attention and quite a bit of it, it made her smile as she stared at her food.
"Then ill have to be sure to get home and changed unless of course you are looking to get me something to wear to this mystery place. Ill still have to be sure to be back here within reasonable time." She was of course teasing him, she wasn't one to spend a lot of time primping even for special events. She would look great she just wasn't going to spend hours of her life in front of a mirror. "I like animals in general really but cats and dogs are pretty high up on my list. Now id have to say my favorite color is purple or gold. It depends on what I'm feeling." She knew she looked divine in either color but it would be up to him.
Maddie looked him over thinking over the things she knew about him and the things she could only guess at. Really all she knew for sure where the things everyone knew about him because it was common knowledge. "What about you? What things do you like?"

He cut into his meal further taking a small sample he chewed as she spoke watching her eat and take joy. He repressed a chuckle and smile as he admired her simple pleasure at the meal before her. As he chewed he thought. Swallowing he answered, ‘Well, honestly I get so few moments to really be me I can’t be exactly sure if I like things or do I simply sample some of everything because it is so much better when I am doing it for me. That’s the answer I would give if I were flirting at a party. But I know I like you and old black and white movies. A good drink to while away a few moments.” He nodded as if that summed things up. He wouldn’t mention the readings he did. He read both books physical and electronic voraciously. In fact he read more than he did most things.
"As for changing why do that you look delicious the way you are. Though I do have an idea or two about what we should wear for our night on several towns." He winked keeping the smirk from spreading anywhere but the inside of his head.

"Ohh?" she asked him. "What should we wear then?" She had a pretty good idea but didn't want to spoil the fun he seemed to be having with the thought in his head. She sat back with just a few bites left on her plate a very satisfied look on her face now that her stomach was full. She stretched out in the booth like the content cat she was her legs reaching across to his side of the booth. She probably should have rethought that after she remembered she was wearing a skirt rather then jeans for a change. It wasn't actually to late to change her position but why bother, eventually the plan was to see her out of her clothes and it wasn't like he could acutally see that it had ridden up from the other side of the table, right? She mentally shrugged that one off.
Her head tilted to an angle, "so the only things you know you like is me and old movies, oh and drink of course. Surely there are other things? I know you are not that simple Hale." She batted her lashes at him in full teasing mode.

His brow raised as she responded. As she stretched out on the booth he fought then thought better of it the urge to follow her. As she luxuriated so too did he. He slid and laid his back against the booth seat raising one knee he looked over at her taking in the length of leg his eyes trailing their way up her finally meeting her watery blue eyes.
"Yes indeed." He began, "We will wear quite a bit but don’t worry I will bring our attire we can change on the way." His phone vibrating on the table called his attention but he ignored it just yet. It was one of several things he needed to attended to so as to be free for her until at least the next afternoon. He smirked as his eyes went to the table then roaming over her. “Breakfasts over it seems and we both have a few things to do before I return. Don’t leave wait for me?” Sitting up he put his phone into his pocket tossing several bills on the table to pay for their meals. He slid out of the booth onto his feet.

A slight frown appeared on her face but she knew he had things to do so she let it go as he slid out of the booth. She eyed the money he tossed onto the table and just shook her head before sliding out of the booth as well fixing her skirt as she went. Didn't want to flash the customers as it were.
That he was bringing their clothes meant she didn't have to run home to change so that was perfectly fine with her. Though changing on the way could mean several things. "Ill be here waiting for you then. Don't be late." She grinned at him before giving him a brief kiss then proceeded back to her office to finish what he had interrupted. If only they didn't both have work to finish before play time she sighed.

The hours passed all too quickly and painfully slowly simultaneously, Hale was a dervish of action calling in favors making bribes and collecting what would be need on their getaway. A pause a respite or maybe a regime change to the status quo. He wasn’t sure and had to admit he didn’t care. He knew simply that after the months nigh years of buildup he had to impress. As such he spared no expenses and called in quite a few markers. He secured his successes booking their travel arrangements as well as managing to pick out her and his ensemble which surprisingly was the most difficult aspect for while he knew her size and proportions by heart the fit style and finer details eluded him. In the end he went with his gut he arrived back Nijeni’s just as Maddie’s shift was ending.
He waited outside the SUV limo flowers in hand and a smile on his face. Her dress shoes and accessories inside on the seat of the limo along with his own date wear. He turned his phone from vibrate to silent. Placing it on don not disturb as an additional level of quietude. Only important calls would get through to him. He’d even taken the pains to insure his Rishi would not disturb him which surprisingly took quite a bit of doing. He would need to speak with Darren about that later bit for now his eyes and mind was on the Redheaded Chang that would be walking through the door very soon.

It hadn't taken her long to finish going over the paperwork that needed her attention. After having cut out the tigers that didn't want her as their leader -the same ones that had also been causing strife in her business- her kitchen almost ran seamlessly. Everyone still working here worked very well with one another with only the occasional hiccup. Normally it was a customer having a fit over something or some nonsense like that, that caused problems. She still spent a fair amount of time checking on how everything was going but not out of any real need. The wait staff knew how to handle most problems which meant unless it wasn't something they could solve she just felt like she was hovering. It didnt keep her from doing her job but maybe it was time to perhaps open another one or do something else with all the free time she had.
She had been sitting there humming to herself while she waited for the end of her shift and for Maggie to arrive to take care of the rest of the day and anything else that arose while Maddie was otherwise occupied. The woman was actually an older human woman but she was a complete null and had quickly become one of her favorite people. They normally worked pretty well together which was a plus.. There was a knock at the door before Maggie walked in and smiled at Maddie who was at that moment fixing her makeup. She wasn't one for many words but the look she gave was all knowing. Maddie blushed for the older woman's benefit before giving her a hug and scurrying out the door to meet her date.
She was just a few minutes late as she stepped out the front door and spotted Hale standing there looking a bit nervous if she wasn't mistaken with flowers in hand. Her eyebrows lifted at him before she smiled in return and walked over to him. "You going to open the door or am I?"

Hale chuckled at her sass moving to open the door on their chariot. He didn’t bother to pay any real attention to the tigers still working inside who had their ears and eyes focused in his and Maddie’s direction. He knew word of their assignation would be all over the islands before sunrise. It was why he’d called in the markers he had. A little privacy by way of invisibility was just the prescription. Relinquishing his hold on the door he impeded her progress inside by planting a kiss on her lips purposefully allowing her to feel how much he wanted her and this moment. He hated to but he broke the kiss first pulling away and helping her up and in though help wasn’t a small embellishment he chose that opportunity to steal a caress not a lecherous groping merely alight flutter of a touch close enough to hint far enough to be nearly decorous. Climbing in quickly enough behind that he could inhale her scent he seated himself between their ensembles. Laying the flowers across her lap and extending her gift wrapped box to her along with the two smaller boxes shoes and jewelry. He hadn’t bothered with makeup as he didn’t feel she really needed any.
