Kenji was no fool while his mistress the god queen had not involved herself so directly with the world at large he had. While Sin had taken to the modernity of weapons and methods to cause pain Kenji had taken in the world as a whole its leaps forwards and its pains. He was a watcher of men having long ago moved beyond all but the basic necessities. He was no monk or holy man he was simply Kenji the one true believer on the island. He was no sycophantic blind follower as Sin. He was simply the one who saw all that was good in godhood and all that could not be. Uli. He pondered having long ago learned to keep a space in the shared space of their head his own. She granted him immortality and for that he would ever be indebted to her. Yet his thoughts were his own. As she kept the vision and sight of her kept the mortal parts of himself from her, usually.



The storm she was preparing he no clue as to what the target or the instrument of she would choose but he had survived many wars at her side and knew the makings of what was brewing. He hoped it would not descend to the level it had when fire rained from the sky and the world shook. That was a storm he hoped to never see again. Yet he knew what none did. Uli was a survivor that meant more than anyone would ever know. She would survive until she could win with each victory she grew stronger and better able to choose her moment. She was inscrutable to all but him. He could see the storm coming he knew soon there would be blood. Part of him welcomed the chance. Part of him looked forward to the victory.

Sin didn’t like the labs they were while defensible too far from the open battlefields he loved. This warfare Uli was wreaking he could appreciate and looked forward to yet there was something about it that didn’t sit. He knew it was part of his human lifetime rearing its ugly head. The precepts of the Knights of Solomon Temple seemed longer lived than he had hoped or thought possible.



Watching as the last batch of boxes was loaded up he had no clue how far whatever the near mystical elixir Uli created was flying nor did he care. He was the strong right hand and he would finish whatever the Mistress would start. He looked forward to the chance to try the hand of the pretender in Reno the man had given an affront and deserved whatever hell Uli was tormenting him with.



Glancing at his phone as his alarms were triggered. He brought up the nearest camera as expected he didn’t see anyone but he was sure Kenji had been there. The man was a ghost he was good and that was what bothered Sin more than anything. He had been granted the gift of Uli’s immortality and yet he clung to what was mortal in him. No not clung hid and cherished. He was a fool generally loyal but anything but complete loyalty troubled him.

Uli watched it all go away she smiled and then noticed Sin notice something frowning" he is determined to be a pain in my side that one but I cant hurt him because hes mine. well I could but there would be no point in it so I have something better his son asked if I wished to help him in some business venture in a show of good faith. I will do just that ..after all whats the point of all this money if I cant be generous with it."

She chuckled and something about how she said that proved the games would not end with Reno. " now my knight the scientist.. I dont need them any more Ive got the formula in my head should I ever need it again. What shall we do with them."

She practically purred that last bit" shall we invite them for dinner? Or make them fight to the death or fire walk?"

She had so many wonderful ideas maybe she would do them all there were a few to play with.

Kenji knew if he opened himself he would be able to find where in the compound Uli and her hammer were yet doing so would prove beyond a doubt he suspected something. Instead he moved quickly and quietly as death avoiding the cameras he knew were placed in secret by Sin. The man thought he had an extra edge in this there constant game. Kenji had mapped the ‘hidden’ cameras out long ago and purposefully ghosted them occasionally just so that Sin would become annoyed.



It was childish but a worthwhile game as it helped Kenji retain the razors edge of his skill without having to devolve to becoming a crossroad killer. It was far healthier than the games he knew Sin played with the tigers of the island. Why he was allowed to do so form time to time was anyone’s guess. Kenji supposed he used the tigers as they were a power on the island even as fractious as they were currently.



Kenji also suspected that was as close as Sin would come to testing his mettle against Kenji himself. He was not blinded to the fact that Sin wanted to be Uli’s only resource and was willing to make an ass of himself to prove it. As vainglorious as she was having Kenji gave her insights she would not normally manage and it gave him eternity. Fair trade in his book though at times he found himself wondering what would oblivion be for him. The great void ah but it was just a dream nothing short of divine fire would end his time. For that alone he would be forever thankful.

Sin smiled at the chance of venting what he would never allow Uli to see in his estimation of Kenji. T was a blindness she had for him that Sin did not enjoy. But gods and goddesses moved in strange ways. In the end he was sure her consort would pay once she found a way to be free of him should she choose. It was an interesting dilemma gods didn’t make mistakes yet it could be viewed as one Kenji allowed the gift of immortality. Last of his kind or not. "Yes my mistress. Perhaps a race would do have them run for their freedom. Whoever makes it to the far side of the compound able to make one request?"



It was a simple game on the surface yet he knew as none other the floor the were on would be almost impossible for the group of scientists. Theirs was a world of ideas and as such while they possessed formidable intelligence their bodies were not up to the tasks. It would be interesting watching as they worked the numbers and many would choose to simply handicap their rivals to winnow the playing field.



Watching modern mans barbarism was enlightening and oh so much fun to him at times.

She was tired of the samurai and his moods he soured the fun in most anything always. There were few who could sever bonds leaving both alive but the one she suspected could do it shed rather not be beholden to.

The master of New Orleans had not always been so and she had only met him once. He tasted of things old as she was things that shouldn't still exists. She heard he was playing at something else passing him self off as one of belles. That had perplexed her it was so hard a charade to maintain.

So sunless she could find a way to curry favor or him owe her then shed keep her distance. Sin as always made her clap with glee"that is the best yet..make it so my knight and we will feast after. I will call the khan and see if he will join us for tea later."

She chuckled softly and in a swirl of skirts she strode for the door knowing hed either fallow or would shortly after.

Their shielding was of such skill and precision that generally what the other felt did not bleed unless the feelings were so hot and strong that no shielding could prevent them. Those feelings that did bleed were of such distilled and refined strength as to be the purest most direct of emotions. He sighed feeling the wash of her disappointment in him. She’d taken him for his strength for his resolute drive acceptance of death and his devotion. He was sure his time with the former Blue tiger queen was a nothing in her eyesight what disappointed her was his ability to keep it from her all these few short years. It was spurred by jealousy that anything could have slipped into his dedication to and adherence of her.



He knew what need to be done yet drug his feet as he never had before. The only way to truly atone for his actions would be to either destroy the fruit of his loins or sculpt him into a tool for her use. His life would be short and easily overlooked had the whelp not taken it upon himself to make the streak into something that could threaten the Kiss and anger the Godqueen herself for his audacity. He’d made an overture which had yet been accepted or rebuked and so he waited knowing that tomorrow was promised him and yet how many more tomorrows would he see if things stayed as they were between him and his mistress. How long before she bent the very wheels of the world o her will doing the impossible and sending him along the wheel of fate to the great void.

Sin smiled at the beaming heat of her appreciation. She would certainly enjoy the festivities he followed in her wake his phone in hand as he activated the cameras throughout the level so that they could watch the happenings. Multitasking he sent messages to the guard to carry out the plan in simple terms leaving the scientists to their own if watched devices.


Sooner or later Uli would tire of the tiger and do something he was almost afraid for her tiger in that he knew whatever it would be a choice given the man that would be devastating in how it would cut him to the core no matter what decision he would make. He had to admit when she turned the eye of her enmity to a thing it was better for the thing to dry itself into nothingness and blow away.


Turning his gaze back to the present putting everything save the nights festivities of watching the human scientist do monstrous things to themselves he stayed at her hip a step and half beyond her. He gave himself license to watch her move. She was predatory grace given an air of seduction. He had yet to find anyone living dead or any state in between that could match her constant warriors seductiveness. She was truly the goddess of these lands somehow embodying the warriors past of its people while being as primordial as nature itself.

She felt the admiration and basked strutting to her throne room in an upper hall settling in it and giving him a wicked smile. He was as her samurai had started before that blue witch. If she wasn't already dead Uli would have killed her for ruining him. That made her frown like a petulant princess.

Now she wanted blood so hittin the panels for the hd large screen she watched everything from news to camera feeds on lowered from the ceiling on its mount. It came on and before she switched it to camera input she noticed the ticker for new orleans. The news made her grinit could only be one thing looking to her sin"its begun"

Purring in pleasure she learned all she could and when she finally switched to watch her game she felt high and arroused. Letting it leak purposely to kenji her triumphant feeling knowing he hated that particular emotion it effected him to her arrousal but the difference was shed forbidden him any ones bed but hers and hed refused. She would takeher pleasure tonight he would be keft wanting.

Kenji quickly tired of the game for the evening and decided to draw near his mistress. Even in his more morose moods she was the light to which he was drawn. She was the dark brightness of his soul and he her tiger. Her happiness was paramount to all things including his own. So swallowing the melancholy he appeared from the darkness behind her throne resting on bowed knee at her hand. She would punish him for his mood sometimes that was what it took to escape the melancholy. Other times it took the letting of blood by his hand. He would find which later.



By his stiffness he knew Sin had felt him there but could not place his location until he was seen. The mans wariness was a wonder to behold at times. At others he was a bother that needed to be dealt with eventually. He was sure when the time came Uli would do her abject best to insure it was not a fair fight for either of them. She knew their strengths implicitly but not the depths of their dedication to her. Sin had never questioned he simply accepted however one day soon the man would question and the many years of his fealty and servitude would well up in him like a great tsunami. Kenji hoped his faith could withstand such a storm.



Kenji watched his eyes gone cold and still as the two men who had just previously worked together turned on each other. Each trying to deceive the other it was over all too soon as their actions caused each to fall injured making them both targets of opportunity for the next.

He started to speak as she had given him leave but held his tongue as he felt the predatory energy that was Kenji in the air. He couldn’t hide his scent but as it permeated the space it was hard to pinpoint his location and Sin waited his eyes scanning the area slowly tracking the least movement. An inhaled breath and he would spot the man. As he oozed out of the shadows like the warrior born Sin had to commend the man his actions. While he wasn’t completely unknown many would have been hard pressed to find him if he had been up to mischief he would have most assuredly succeeded.



Watching the news then the beginnings of their very own Hunger games Sin kept his mind free of the niggling doubts of Kenji and gave himself over to the game. “If it please the Mistress I will wager the nights winner will be the Scottish scientist you flew in from the thinktank in Prague he has a fighters heart even in his advanced age.”



Sin was right of course he had a fighters heart even if his body was that of an overweight fifty year old. On the surface odds were with the younger men and women. Sin was not fooled by their youth. Unless two or more worked together the man would certainly be the last standing.

She felt him and smiled" so you finally removed the stick"?

swiveling her gaze to her tiger, but shed not force him to speak accepting his wordless kneel as a sort of acquiescence. So her focus went back to Sin" Ill take that bet I'm for the little hispanic toxicologist shes fiery what shall we bet a night of your choosing if you win and a performance if I do"

He would get by how she said performance hed not be juggling or dancing.

Kenji didn’t dare an answer the rebuke while small was as much forgiveness he knew he would receive for quite some while. He had no idea what exactly they were watching as the news feed was ended. He recognized nothing about the area yet had a feeling that this was somehow somewhere on the island as both Sin and Uli remarked rather knowledgably about what was taking place. He watched as the oldest of the lot of the white coated mortals moved like a dirge given flesh. He was slow yes but methodical. Each room he moved into; he utilized what was at hand to the mpst gruesome means possible. It was interesting that sch a one as he would attempt to when psychologically and physically.







The woman spoken of he assumed was the darker skinned woman who taped three test tubes between the fingers of her hand and broke the ends into jagged points. It was interesting how savage such supposedly learned people became when given leave. He kept his ideas to himself and simply soaked it all in aware just how bad things were becoming in the world.
